Martinniemi
The site in Martinniemi, Haukipudas is used for growing rainbow trout. The fish is brought as smolts, which are produced in the inland facilities by our partners or in our own facility in Vatunki.

Our Vatunki-facility produces smolts to our off-shore sites.
Production
We provide both fresh and frozen fish to our customers; fish processers and markets.
The by-products from the production are used responsibly and sustainably. The by-products can be further processed into fish oil and animal feed.
Life cycle of the fish
The roe is fertilized in specialized facilities.
The fry hatches at six weeks.
When the hatched fry is able to eat they are moved to a specialized smolt unit. There they spend a year after which they are ready to be transferred to open-net cages in the sea.
Rainbow trout will grow 1-3 kilos in their first two years and will then be ready for harvesting.
The fish is initially processed in our processing facility and is then ready for consumption or further processing.
